VIVALDI & BEETHOVEN feature in a charity concert as part of Portsmouth Festivities

The Portsmouth Philharmonic and Southsea Community Choir have teamed up to put on a charity concert as part of the Portsmouth Festivities.

On Saturday June 16 at 7.30pm in the David Russell Theatre at Portsmouth Grammar School, 1 High Street, Portsmouth, the orchestra will lead off in the first half with Vivaldi's Concerto No. 8 for two violins and Beethoven's third 'Eroica' symphony.

After the break the Southsea Community Choir will perform a selection of songs from around the globe on the theme of Freedom.

The concert aims to raise funds for Meningitis Now. Since it was founded in 2009, the orchestra has raised more than £15,000 for charities in the Portsmouth area.

Tickets are available on the door on a first-come, first-served basis priced £7.50.
